Description: Wel-Cote Block Filler is a heavy bodied material for use as a first coat for priming, filling and surfacing all types of unpainted, porous masonry surfaces. Applied by brush or roller, Wel-Cote Block Filler may be used on either interior or exterior surfaces. Wel-Cote Block Filler eliminates the need for wetting of surface before application. Wel-Cote Block Filler is available in both dry powder and ready mixed form.

Surface Preparation: Surface must be free of all dust, form oil and wax based curing compounds. Be certain that metal nails and exposed reinforcing rods are primed with an oil-based primer.

Mixing: READY MIX: No mixing is required, but up to a quart of water may be added per gallon for smooth surfaces. DRY POWDER: Using a clean metal container, pour clean water at a ration of 2½ gallons water to 25 lbs. of Wel-Cote Block Filler. Slowly add powder to water stirring as powder is added. Stir until lump free. Dry powder Wel-Cote Block Filler can be tinted by adding two gallons of latex paint to the mixture, stirring thoroughly while adding paint. This is not a waterproof material or a finish coat, and should be painted.

Application: Apply liberally and work Wel-Cote Block Filler well into pores of surface. On extremely porous surfaces, use a stiff bristle, fiber brush. On smooth, less porous surfaces use a regular masonry paint brush. Wel-Cote Block Filler eliminates the need to wet the surface before application. Apply only when temperatures are above 50° F for 24 hours following application.

Dry time: Allow Wel-Cote Block Filler to dry completely before applying finishing coats. Drying time varies according to the weather. In warm dry weather, Wel-Cote Block Filler may be re-coated the following day.

Coverage (approximate): Coverage varies with the porosity of the surface from 75 sq. ft. to 150 sq. ft. per gallon.

Finish: On interior surfaces apply one coat of a masonry paint over Wel-Cote Block Filler. On exterior surfaces apply two coats, making certain that the finish coats completely seal the surface.

Clean-up: Wash tools immediately with water.

Caution: Do not apply over silicone type water repellents.

Limitations: Wel-Cote Block Filler is not a waterproof material or a finish coat.

Limited Warranty: This product is warranted to be uniform and of the highest quality. Welco shall not assume any responsibility, directly or indirectly, for any loss caused by application of this product not in accordance with directions. All labor costs are excluded from this warranty. Welco liability under this warranty shall in no case exceed the purchase price of the quantity of Welco product used with respect to which damages may be claimed. All claims shall be considered null and void unless submitted within 30 days from date of alleged defect.
