Text Box: Q:  What is this product?
A:  A collection of 12 components (tools and materials) along with special, poster-style For Dummies instructions with adhesive mounts. These components  are used to make minor repairs to drywall and plaster walls and ceilings.

Q:  Who should use this repair kit?
A:         This is a great product for novice and intermediate skill level Do-It-Yourselfers (“I have the desire to make the
repair, but not the know-how”) and time-strapped Do-It-Yourselfers (“I know what to do, but don’t have the time to shop for the all right products”). It is also an emergency repair kit for redecorating enthusiasts (“I frequently rearrange my wall décor and deal with nail and anchor holes”) and parents of active kids (“Wall dents and dings are my life”). Apartment dwellers, facing the aftermath of the previous tenant’s décor, and college/grad students wanting to recover their rental
deposits will ALL benefit from this efficient and complete kit that addresses the spectrum of common wall/ceiling repairs.

Q:  How much damage can I actually repair with this kit?
A:  Up to 25′of structural cracks (to give you an idea of how much this is, most rooms typically have 8′ tall ceilings), one hole up to 3″ in diameter (typically the size of a puncture made in a wall by a doorknob), a hole up to 5″and even a hole up to 12″. The tube of spackling will last most people a good, long time and fill in dozens of nail holes, small dents and dings over a period of years. Both the ready-mixed compound and spackling reseal for future use.

Q:  Why can’t I just paint or wallpaper over damage?
A:  Well, you can, but it will look like that’s exactly what you did. In other words, if you are going to go to the trouble to re-decorate, why not make the repairs first and then decorate so that you’ll achieve smooth, consistent, professional-looking results. You’ll be glad that you did.

Q:  What’s with these poster-style instructions?  Do I have to read all this stuff to get the job done?
A:         We wanted easy-to-read and easy-to-use instructions for our customers. And that’s what the For Dummies brand
delivers. So you wouldn’t have to hold a book or pamphlet or some destroyed piece of packaging to follow directions, we designed a format that could be posted right next to repairs-in-progress, keeping your hands free for tools and activity.  We consolidated the most common household types of drywall and plaster damage into “repair categories” and then color-coded them for fast, visual comprehension. You simply diagnose what kind of repair is to be made by looking between and among the four repair categories and then follow the color-specific steps. You  read only what you need and are supported in each step with demonstration photos. This is what we mean by designing for your success and providing
 project insurance.

Q:  Why would I want to use a Kit For Dummies?
A:  Because you’re SMART, silly!
